That Thou Art

A 2024 installation presented as an invited artist for “World Heritage Munakata: Munakata Miare Art Festival 2024,” held at Hetsu-gu of Munakata Taisha in Fukuoka. Unfolding around the Takamiya ritual site, it incorporated the adjacent Takamiya-saisha shrine building as part of the work, staging a brainwave-driven installation on the theme of “rebirth.”
At the stairway of the Takamiya ritual site, which serves as the entrance, a sound installation by sound artist Jiro Hashimoto resonates. Drawing on her insight as a neuroscientist, Nakano evokes a sensory experience of life and regeneration within the stillness of the sacred precinct. In cooperation with Nitto Denko Corporation.
